A Stream Of Consciousness: View From The Himalayas

Hey there how are you doing Mr Banker?

Where you going on your holiday?

How about a little trip to the Himalayas?

Get the latest gear and kit up for the Everest

Then get into your helicopter

And take a cruise to see the sights

Maybe buy a pair of binoculars

Just keep the focus on narrow

Cause there are some things down below

That you might not want to see

People bringing up fuel every day

Just for your cup of tea

And when you run out of your favourite food

Don’t worry, we send them back

Just as long as you order enough to make it a full sack

To make their trip as worthwhile as yours

So, while you’re sitting there

In the fancy helicopter

Taking pictures as you fly up to the snow

Remember some can be deleted at the press of a fingertip

When they show where your billions didn’t go

and what the money didn’t do to keep you rich

And why its best to not notice and turn away

Scared, In case they’ll want to come and stay

Cause  you know they’ll work much harder than you

And anyway, who’d be there to get your food?

  1. How did I miss this post? I didn’t receive a notification. When I go into my Reader, it keeps coming up with the blocking menu on your posts. Heaven forbid if it succeeded. It would be the literary equivalent of somebody putting me on a bread and water diet, if I no longer received your daily posts and comments.

That Himalayan prose-poem is so gut-wrenchingly brilliant.

  2. the sensitive feeling echoes behind the words… the contrast of lives and thoughts..
